Jim and Cheryl Caldwell Foundation Dedicates A New 21st Century Learning Center At Detroit Lions Academy

The Jim and Cheryl Caldwell Foundation revealed a new 21st Century computer lab and learning center called the “Project Phoenix Learning Center” at Detroit Lions Academy Friday, September 12. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the school with current Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Caldwell, his wife Cheryl and current Detroit Lions players.

The new 21st Century Learning Center at Detroit Lions Academy marks the sixth Project Phoenix Learning Center of the Jim and Cheryl Caldwell Foundation in the United States and the first in Michigan. The learning center includes 20 new computers with Promethean ActivBoards, ActivSlate, ActivExpressions, network printers, Internet accessibility and specialized interactive instructional software.

According to Jarrod Grant, CEO and Principle Educator at Learning, Technology & Leadership, the Jim and Cheryl Caldwell Foundation seeks to enhance selected community centers, public schools, charter schools and other educational facilities by creating 21st Century learning centers for children in under served communities. These 21st Century learning labs are providing needed high-level technology access to bridge home and school.
